Training Experience
I started in computer graphics on a MAC in 1987, first with PageMaker and then switching to QuarkXPress when it was introduced. The first time I opened an early version of Adobe Illustrator, I was hooked. I had to know everything about this application. In no time, I was creating complex illustrations for AT&T, GAF, Pfizer, and many other major clients.
I became an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Illustrator 9, and provided online support for Adobe, fielding users’ questions about Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Today I’m an Adobe Certified Instructor* in Adobe InDesign CC, and Adobe Illustrator CC with training clients throughout the USA. I’m also Adobe’s Co-Manager, of the Adobe User Group of New Jersey as well as a moderator on the Adobe Forums and an Adjunct Professor at Kean University, Robert Busch School of Design.
*Adobe will be ending the Adobe Certified Instructor Program December 31, 2023.

As an Adobe instructor, I approach training from a totally different point of view than others. Most training today is project based. This means that if parts of a particular feature are not included in working as part of the project, they’re not covered. In my training, I teach features, not projects. I use materials designed to allow students to work along with me as I demonstrate complete features.
My on-site one-on-one and team training as well as all of my live online Zoom training can be totally customized to best meet my students’ needs. I also incorporate lots of tips, tricks, and secrets throughout the training, which take the comprehension of the applications to a higher level and allow artists to work far more efficiently.

With totally customized training designed to meet your specific needs, I approach each project individually, so I cannot offer cookie-cutter pricing. I am, however, happy to provide you with a training proposal that will take into account the experience of the artists in using the application, how they will be using the program, the number of artists to be trained as well as the location of the training.

To give you an idea about costs, here are a couple of examples. For a two-day (14 hour) one-on-one basic training course for an application, the cost would be $1000. Or for onsite corporate team training, the cost would be $1000 for the first student and $200 extra for each additional student for a two-day class. (These costs do not cover any travel or expenses.)
Online Zoom training will cost the same as onsite, in person training, but is scheduled as three 5-hour days instead of two 7-hour days (to account for the differences between these two methods of training).
All of my training includes one month of free support, because once you begin using an application on “real” projects there are bound to be questions. Who better to answer those questions than an Adobe Community Expert who answers questions on the Adobe Forums for Adobe?
